TASA Youth is a thematic group of the Australian Sociological Association.
The thematic group aims to facilitate all sociologically-based research relating to young people. The group provides a collegial forum for collaboration and supportive engagement between youth researchers at all points in their careers. The group advocates for sociological perspectives in multi-disciplinary projects and public debates around young people. It also supports publicly engaged youth sociology aimed at improving conditions for young people in Australia and elsewhere through sociologically informed policies and programs.
The group’s current conveners are Amy Dobson (University of Queensland), Rose Butler (University of New South Wales) and Ben Hanckel (University of Technology Sydney).
Contributions to the blog are welcomed from all working across areas of youth and/or sociology; contact Ben at Benjamin.Hanckel@uts.edu.au
